Karen hails from a large entrepreneurial family and began her career in tech when a 10MB hard drive cost $730—enough commission to fund a sunny vacation. She mastered technical sales, created marketing materials before desktop publishing existed, and grew into a skilled writer of user guides and technical documents. Karen led the rollout of Western Canada’s first PC-based intelligent POS systems, standing at the forefront of IT innovation. Mike Reynolds is a climate-protection advocate who began his journey with Greenpeace in the 1980s. After honing his skills as a green homebuilder and project manager, he co-founded Ecohome in 2010, where he serves as Editor-in-Chief. Passionate about sustainable building, Mike develops content for the Ecohome website, teaches, consults, and contributes to the design and construction of internationally recognized concept houses. He uses these demonstration homes to promote sustainable practices and the goal of carbon-negative construction. Mike lives in Chelsea, Quebec, on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, paddling, and cross-country skiing on the Tenagadino Zibi (Gatineau River).
