With a diverse career which began at Intrawest and the Related Companies in the real estate business, he has held prominent roles including Vice President at Nexii Building Solutions Inc., MixCast Studios Inc., co-founder of Blue Planet Water Solutions and COO of AngusOne. Currently, serving as a Partner/Director at Equifaira Partners Inc., Justin provides strategic advisory services to founders and families from business inception through to scale and M&A. Justin’s professional journey reflects his expertise in managing start-ups to multinational corporations.
 
A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Justin is an avid sailor, skier, and racquet sports enthusiast. His passion project, Marine Tree Inc., was conceived to develop technology platforms for the marine industry.

Elliott Routly is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with an initial education and background in Engineering that he converted to financial education and extensive work in the investment banking industry. He brings experience in tech, trading, renewable power generation, construction, and engineering businesses which includes extensive financial modeling and contract structuring work. He has held executive roles in engineering technology, investment banking, construction, and tech companies. Elliott provides strategic financial planning & analysis services for portfolio companies.

Karen hails from a large entrepreneurial family and began her career in tech when a 10MB hard drive cost $730—enough commission to fund a sunny vacation. She mastered technical sales, created marketing materials before desktop publishing existed, and grew into a skilled writer of user guides and technical documents. Karen led the rollout of Western Canada’s first PC-based intelligent POS systems, standing at the forefront of IT innovation. Her journey then shifted to website design and organic SEO, crafting one of her first HTML sites on a glowing green CRT screen. Later, she moved into construction, managing marketing for a green building materials firm, before founding her own agency in 2012. Mike Reynolds is a climate-protection advocate who began his journey with Greenpeace in the 1980s. After honing his skills as a green homebuilder and project manager, he co-founded Ecohome in 2010, where he serves as Editor-in-Chief. Passionate about sustainable building, Mike develops content for the Ecohome website, teaches, consults, and contributes to the design and construction of internationally recognized concept houses. He uses these demonstration homes to promote sustainable practices and the goal of carbon-negative construction. Mike lives in Chelsea, Quebec, on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, paddling, and cross-country skiing on the Tenagadino Zibi (Gatineau River).

Reb is a passionate advocate for sustainable building content for Ecohome. With a unique perspective shaped by her experience as a younger homeowner and the influence of her father, a seasoned construction professional, Reb is a hobby writer who brings both fresh insight and deep-rooted knowledge to her work. She understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities of building and renovating homes with sustainability in mind. Reb is committed to empowering others by sharing practical advice, resources, and inspiration for creating healthier, more energy-efficient living spaces. Her approach combines a respect for craftsmanship with a forward-thinking mindset focused on environmental responsibility. Reb is dedicated to helping other young dynamic professionals to make informed choices that benefit both people and the planet.
